Subaru Outback vs Honda Passport- Performance

Both the Subaru Outback and its top Honda competition, the Passport, are marketed as off-road-savvy crossovers. While the base engine of the Subaru Outback might not match the horsepower of the Passport's standard engine, powertrain is not the only defining characteristic of an adventure-worthy crossover. The Outback sits at a higher ground clearance than the Honda Passport, giving you a better line of sight on your surroundings as you cruise the trails. The Outback also comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical AWD and X-MODE®, which helps to further boost traction on aggressive terrain.

The Honda Passport comes standard with a 2WD, with an adjustable AWD system available. For added safety, the Outback features Hill Descent Control, which is wholly absent from the Honda Passport.

Subaru Outback vs Honda Passport- Interior

Drivers from Mobile, AL to Saraland who want to enjoy comfort and style in their next crossover will appreciate the Subaru Outback. This compact crossover measures similarly to the Honda Passport, with both SUVs seating five, with plenty of room to stretch out. However, the Subaru Outback earns a bit more praise for its well-designed interior. For the most part, the Honda Passport is considered a shortened version of the Honda Passport, with base trims having a more unimpressive and plain interior design.

Subaru Outback vs Honda Passport- Convenience

The Subaru Outback further shows off its character as an off-roading crossover through many of its standard features. The standard raised roof rails on the Outback feature integrated crossbars, giving Daphne, AL adventurers a convertible roof rack capable of carrying 150 lbs. of equipment. The Outback also comes available with an 11.6-inch tablet-style touchscreen display, and a windshield wiper de-icer through the All-Weather Package. Both of these feature are not available on any trim of the Honda Passport.

Subaru Outback vs Honda Passport- Price

Compact crossover models tend to prove less expensive in the short and long-term, compared to bulkier full-sized SUVs. The Subaru Outback offers a great deal of standard features for a comfortable starting price affordable on many people's budgets. Even Spanish Fort, AL shoppers who buy the base-level outback trim enjoy a great features and a stellar performance of under $30,000.

Conversely, the base trim level of the Honda Passport begins well over $30,000 and its price goes up even more when you add all-wheel-drive. Meanwhile, the Subaru Outback comes available in many trim levels, but all-wheel-drive is included on all. Even the highest trim of the Outback stays priced below $40,000, which is more than can be said for the highest trim of the Honda Passport.
